Summary

Consensus report published in the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation in May 2019. Its definition of CLAD, as restated in an open-access 2026 validation study, is a sustained loss of at least 20 percent in forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) from the post-transplant baseline after other identifiable causes have been excluded and treated. The 2019 report also introduced phenotypes and staging that this site records on separate pages. The full text of this report was not opened for this record; the description above relies on the title, the Crossref metadata and the cited open-access secondary source.
